David Dillon for Congress - Minnesota's Third Congressional District

I am compelled to run for office because I have seen, over and over, our best opportunities, particularly in matters concerning our economy, squandered and sacrificed in a fight for power by the professional political classes.

The greatest of American concerns are pushed aside to make room for trivial or popular subjects. Congress debates steroids in baseball and stimulus checks in a shortsighted tactic to focus on the easy and the next election.

The truth is, there are good ideas on both sides of the aisle but the fight to keep the other side from wining goes on after the election. Modern party politics is keeping the American people from the opportunities they deserve.

For me, this campaign is about showing, in case after case, how the "food fight" of modern party politics has kept us from real progress in Energy, Health Care, Social Security, Immigration and Education. And, how an independent voice, focused on the long term, not the next election can bridge the gap for real progress.

The truth is, Congress has damaged our economy and needs reform and reform never comes from the top or the parties who are enjoying being in charge, it comes from the outside, that's why I am running as an Independent.
